John Sien is the owner and contractor for Channels. He has a BS on Electrical Engineering & Technology with MBA prerequisites from Bradley University, MBA training from Harvard and Stanford, and a Communications Certification from USC.
John worked in the Electronics Industry for companies including HP (Field Engineer, Sales & Marketing Mgr, Operations Mgr, General Mgr of Asia Pacific Field Operations for Components Group, Principal Consultant and VP of Sales for the Americas for HP Consulting and Integration, VP of Strategic Accounts for Micromuse, and Director of OEM Sales to Network Equipment Providers, Cable, Media and Entertainment segment for IBM Tivoli Division.
John founded Channels in 2009 and has grown the company to a $2 million dollar contractor. Our shop in Reno includes showroom, theater, calibration lab, office, and warehouse. We offer one stop shopping for design assistance, product purchases, and the full range of products and services that all work together seamlessly with standard or custom automation solutions. We have a CEDIA certified and factory trained leadership team, and installation team focused on the design and implementation of automated and stand-alone products purchased from our shop.
We specialize in the design, sale, wiring, and build-out of new Smart Homes with equipment and services that work together with simple user controls. This includes all the top brands of lighting fixtures, Circadian lighting, shades and window covers, Hi-Fi stereo and multichannel audio, TV’s, Projectors, and 4K Direct View MicroLED flat screens, networks, surveillance cameras, and integrated fireplace controls, window controls, switchable window tint solutions, and pre-owned home upgrades incorporating Smart Home functionality. We service the Reno/Tahoe area and the Sierra Mountain Region of California. We are a $2,000,000 C2-D Low Voltage Electrical contractor that has completed over 1000 projects in the past 16 years.
